    Adolescent depression linked to the school transition period is a common phenomenon according to the research results of Goodwin, Mrug, Borch and Cillessen, 2012). in fact, according to research, adolescents are the cut-off age for the onset of depression during this period (1). There are many causes of depression in late and early adolescents. Over the years, research has concluded that the most common causes of adolescent depression are genetics, lack of parental protection, low self-esteem, child abuse (of all types), relationships defective interpersonal skills and educational transitions. For the purposes of this research, we will identify educational transitions from middle or middle school to high school, and later describe how research into solution-focused therapies can help alleviate symptoms of adolescent depression during these transitions. It is hypothesized that adolescents transitioning from elementary and middle school to high school experience an increase in depressive symptoms. The following literary review will attempt to support and identify this hypothesis. Depression in Adolescents Depression is common among the adolescent population and appears around the age of 13 to 18 years. During this time, children face the pressures of adjustment, expected academic performance, puberty, peer pressure, and peer conflict. It is reported that up to 25% of adolescents in the United States will experience a full-blown episode of depression before the age of 18 (Bradley, McGrath, Brannen, & Bagnell, 2010).
