    Throughout her tenure at Price Waterhouse, Ann Hopkins was known, by those who worked with her, for her poor interpersonal skills. An example of this occurred when she got into a heated argument with Albuquerque's Kaplan after he attempted to review the BIA's work. Kaplan said he was subjected to 45 minutes of obscenity from Ann Hopkins. Kaplan also added that he saw Hopkins as an obstacle to his advancement within the company and ultimately decided to leave the company a few years after the incident. (Ann Hopkins Case, page 5) Another example of this occurred in 1981, while she was having lunch with Beyer and Krulwich when she began criticizing some of the people who worked in the office. Ann's comments became progressively more intense to the point where Krulwich found it necessary to end the lunch there and then and insist on returning to the office. Laughlin was sent to lawyer Hopkins and he allegedly told her to "be more careful with [her] language."
