When we think of schools in need, we usually think of inner-city schools. These are known to need help and have low performance on standardized tests. We don't usually hear about rural schools. These schools are like inner city schools and struggle with performance and attendance. Even if these children do not live in the same type of environment, they nevertheless come from the same types of backgrounds. Their families may not have a lot of money or their parents may not have graduated from high school. However, we still tend to focus on city schools. Some people don't even think of a rural school as a school that needs help or has low achievement. Regarding social justice, education levels vary greatly across rural regions of the Americas. Most rural communities fall into one of the following four general types. These types include the amenity rich, the amenity in transition, the declining resource dependent, and the chronically poor (Ulrich, p.1). Chronically poor communities, compared to amenity-rich, transitioning, and declining communities, have significantly lower levels of education. Nearly 14% of people living in chronically poor neighborhoods report not having completed high school. In these communities, the father had a lower level of education than the mother (Ulrich, p.2). The level of education of parents is very important for their students. When parents place a high value on education, their children are more likely to receive encouragement and financial support to continue their education. If parents are not educated, they will generally not push their child to progress in their studies. An education will also help with a better job, allowing parents to get the help the child needs to...... middle of paper ...... for this they are required to have a certain average or grade. indicate. This will help them by giving them the motivation to do better in school and get good grades. They must also come to school to participate in this activity. This can be a motivation for students. By participating in an extra activity at school, it can show students what it means to work for something and get something else out of it. I would also suggest to teachers and something I will use is to develop relationships with students. Help students feel welcome in the classroom. You should also provide extra help to students who need it. It's our job to be there for these kids and help them excel in life. We spend 6 hours or more a day with these kids and if you scare them or make them unwelcome, they are much less likely to come to school and do well..
