Essay / Who is Christ today - 1782
It is undeniable that we live in difficult times. Newspapers are full of articles about the economic downturn. The local television news headlines the violence breaking out in the streets around the corner. Internet sites broadcast events of war and genocide on almost every continent. With all of these sobering events happening daily, the question arises: Who is Jesus Christ for us today? In his day, Christ was a teacher, leader, and role model to the growing Christian population. "Following the holy fathers, we unanimously teach one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, complete in his divinity and complete in his manhood; truly God, and truly man, of a reasonable soul and of a subsisting human flesh; consubstantial with the Father as to his divinity, and consubstantial with us as to his virility; similar to us in all things, but without sin” (Borg 23). of his humanity was questioned in the first centuries after his crucifixion. Some sects denied the divinity of Jesus Christ. Some sects denied the physical body of Jesus Christ during the fifth century. and achieve a complete and precise vision of the person of Christ They create...... middle of paper ......mortal man You can consider him a holy deity. but it is important to understand what it represents for today's society. He is still a model of Christian life and tradition. He is still the only model of our salvation and the symbol of our atonement with the Lord.
