    Universal health care is in place in almost every developed country, with the United States being the last to do so. But is the Affordable Care Act the solution to universal health care in the United States? In 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act. Parts of this law were signed into law in 2012 and were scheduled to be fully implemented on January 1, 2013. Unfortunately, many parts of the bill, such as the candidate registration website, failed and many states rejected the proposed changes in the infrastructure that make the bill possible. The main goal of this reform is to expand Medicaid coverage, hold insurance companies accountable for rising costs, reduce overall health care costs, ensure greater choice of doctors for patients and to provide quality health care to all Americans (Troy 21). Throughout the passage of this bill, only one of those promises has been kept: Medicaid expansion. The Affordable Care Act must be repealed and replaced with a single-payer system because Obamacare created "death boards" for elderly and disabled Americans, and failed to allow many who wanted to keep their coverage current illness to do so, said the former doctor of many people. is not covered by Obamacare, and ObamaCare does not deliver on Obama's main promise to reduce the overall cost of health care while providing universal coverage. During the 2012 presidential debates on the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama said, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan. But in reality, this is not the case. Barack Obama misled voters into believing that they could keep their health insurance if you were part of the 85% already happily insured.
