And why do rifles have to be carried at exactly the same angle? why do you need to stay online accurately? why your bed needs to be made a certain way; why your uniform and equipment must be in a prescribed order at all times; why must all officers be saluted with vivacity and precision? These things are part of your disciplinary training. Their goal is to teach you obedience, loyalty, team play, personal pride, pride in your organization, respect for the rights of others, love of the flag and the will to win. So you see that being disciplined does not mean you are punished. This means that you learn to put the task of your unit, of your team, before your personal well-being; that you learn to obey quickly and happily so that even when they are not present, you
