Essay / The Development of Feudalism
FeudalismFeudalism started a long time ago, William the Conqueror started it in Europe in 1086. Basically the king gives us land, we give it to the knights, the knights protect the peasants, the peasants give back food and services, we get protection and soldiers, then the king gets knights and money. Thanks to feudalism, we nobles are at the top, so we can live quite well. My routine today, like most other days, is to get up early around dawn, go to mass, have breakfast, lunch and prayers, dinner, hunting, then the prayers before bed. Throughout the day, we met to discuss politics, business, or disagreements. Sometimes after dinner we could entertain ourselves, sometimes with jugglers, or like today we had a jester. So I have a good life because of feudalism. Say no to plagiarism. Being a very religious Christian, I knew I wanted to go, so I did. The journey there was hard, some crossed the desert but I went on a boat, there was almost no food or water, some died because of it, being a noble I was able to get a little more food and water than the others. On the ship there were also many deadly storms, because of which other ships were shipwrecked. We were finally able to reach the Holy Land. It was after the battle that we won that we were able to retake Jerusalem. I was happy to return home, to resume a normal life. The Pope promised that we would be freed from sin if we helped, so it feels good to reclaim the Holy Land and be freed from sin. The Black Death 09/26/1347 The plague started a few weeks ago, and no one knows what is happening. People blame it on spoiled food, contaminated water, lower class, and some think it's God punishing us. Personally, I think it's the dirty lower class that is behind all these horrible things. It's terrible what's happening, today I saw a woman with these ring shaped spots that were red with black marks all over, it's disgusting, I've also heard of people who had huge black boils on it. It's terrible, I stay at home as much as possible, I think I could go somewhere far away from everyone, I don't want to leave my family but I don't want to get sick either, I don't know what I should do.11/3/1347I was finally able to get out of England. I was able to find a little place away from everyone. I thought I couldn't get sick, I was safe from the Black Death, but I think I'm getting sick, I'm starting to get red circles all over. I feel bad for leaving my friends and family, I was just trying to stay alive, I was hoping to go back if or when this all ends, but I won't be able to now. A nobleman and a peasant belong to very different classes and, as a result, they experienced the Black Death in very different ways. Some nobles died, but because they were of a higher class, they were able to stay away from the plague. that the peasants at the bottom of the scale were most exposed to the disease and that most of them died. After the Black Death, most of the peasants had died, so the nobles were left without workers. Keep in mind: this is just one..
