    From the beginning, getting into graduate school was one of my main goals, but the question of how to finance my PhD . higher education was a major obstacle. In the Middle East, there is a clear lack of human rights, particularly for women. So, it is quite difficult to apply for a graduate scholarship and men have a complete advantage in any scholarship, if it exists. In 2012, I joined UWM as a sophomore majoring in biological sciences.
