Even though the Chinese government has addressed the issue, it takes time to create opportunities in a highly populated society. Additionally, non-governmental donations greatly support academic development. Chinese and British authorities provided significant funds for education. It is worth noting that the UK has several independent charities, for example the British National Association for Environmental Education (NAEE) and Sustainable and Environmental Education (SEEd), which support environmental education in the formal education sector. They will organize training courses for educators, promote ESD and support sustainable schooling. The British government but also the community play a crucial role. On the contrary, the traditional mentality of Chinese students is to access high-level education. Living in a highly competitive study environment, most of them tend to focus on core subjects. Inevitably, non-exam oriented material is easily overlooked. Therefore, even though they receive a lot of funding, only a small part of it has been used for the environment.
