His acting was perfect; she used different tones in her voice while chatting with the other actors and she made her personality very lively. For example, in Act One, Scene Five, Allison made her voice sound very nervous, when Sister Aloysius confronted Father Flynn about Donald Muller, making her voice shaky and hoarse. When she kept asking Father Flynn if he wanted more tea, she was nervous in her seat; she wouldn't stay still during this scene. Another illustration of how Allison convinced the audience of her ability to act was in act one, scene seven, when she confided in Father Flynn about her brother and the fact that she could not sleep more; in fact, it seemed like she was going through a tough time judging by the way she let the public see.
