Essay / Summary of Conquered, Colonized, Colonized By Beau Sia
We all need to realize that as long as we live in a country, we should all have the same rights and values. Yet in many regions we have found that citizens believe that immigrants are their competitors, whether in work, study, business or politics, etc. This happens because citizens believe that immigrants are taking advantage of their country by taking their place. . So to defend his idea, Beau Sia declared: “Until our children stop being considered enemies” (Sia). Through this quote, the author is saying that as long as citizens do not consider the children of immigrants as enemies, things will not change. For example, we often heard that students were fighting because a group of students were teasing an immigrant student by calling him a terrorist and pushing him to do something bad. So hearing and seeing this type of crap news, people lose trust in others and create distance between races. For everyone to be equal, we must all be supportive and friendly to everyone.
