A young boy named George was given an ear transmitter that would send out a high-pitched noise to prevent him from having an "unfair advantage" in his intelligence. The noise would cause George and anyone else who started to think intellectually about something to see that noise pass through their ears. So, they end up forgetting what they thought before. This allows George to have the same amount of knowledge as the community around him. Average intelligence will not allow any competition and equality among members. Harrison Bergeron talks about fair grading because there is no diversity of intelligence among students or community members. Everyone will have the same expectations of average intelligence, whether you are in the community or at school. Is it right to eliminate someone's thoughts and feelings because others think they might be too ?
