Almost everyone's opinion on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in any sport, let alone baseball, has been negative. This gives some athletes unfair advantages over others in helping their team win games and break records. The game will never become fair if steroid use continues and strives to be stopped in MLB with the new steroid testing policy it has implemented. Steroids were initially manufactured during World War I to help soldiers suffering from any type of problem. weaknesses to become stronger. "Major League Baseball Commissioner Fay Vincent stated: "The possession, sale or use of any illegal drug or controlled substance by players or Major League personnel are strictly prohibited... This prohibition applies. to all illegal drugs and controlled substances, including steroids” (Farrey). And since the ban on steroids, their use is still high and everything is being done to stop it.
