  • Essay / Abraham as an Ideal Man of Faith in the Holy Bible

Abraham as an Ideal Man of FaithThe question is frequently asked: “What does it mean to have faith?” “What does it mean to be faithful? » The path to justice has always been paved in good faith, and this is a well-known fact. One might think that the ideal man of faith would be one who would be the most appropriate spiritual companion for God. This would be someone with whom God could speak and carry out His wishes for the human beings within. God would not just want a servant, but a friend who would go through life with God. He's a hard man to find. Worshipers of God are always sure to look for an example in the Bible. The Old Testament offers many different examples of men of faith. Some men of faith examined closely in the Old Testament are Abraham, Noah, and Job. Abraham can be considered the ideal man of faith because his relationship with God exceeded that of Noah and Job. His relationship was ideal in that there was real communication and mutual respect. Although Noah and Job were men of faith, their relationship was not ideal because Noah did not communicate well and Job lacked respect and trust in the Lord. Abraham was the “father of all nations” chosen by God. He and God shared a relationship that no other man had ever shared with God. God said to Abraham: I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, that it may be your blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you. All the communities of the earth... middle of paper ... for he never lacked trust or respect for the Lord. Even when God demanded that Abraham kill his own son, Abraham never lost any respect or trust. He just had faith. The conclusion to draw is quite simple. Abraham was the ideal man of faith, because of his upholding of the vital elements of the ideal, as well as being God's best companion. He proved that devotion does not necessarily mean only strict servitude, but it also means maintaining a relationship at a level that servants cannot achieve. It also showed that mutual respect must be present for a relationship to work and that trust is required at all times. Faith was never a “casual” thing for Abraham. He took it all in every moment, which is why he was the ideal man of faith. He did everything necessary to be God's ideal companion.
