    Career ReviewThere are many different careers available around the world, covering a variety of different branches, subjects and groups. Some careers may interest some people while others may not show even the slightest interest because different aspects of careers appeal to some people more than others. Despite their differences, all careers are essential to the functioning of today's society as we know it. I decided to do in-depth research on two specific careers, urban planners and biomedical engineers. Urban planning is an interesting job that is necessary for almost every modern community to function. Urban planners most often work for local governments and plan new developments and transportation, design the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly developments for buildings and cities, and even study how to make the more aesthetic environment (“Urban and Regional”). The salary is quite high, with a national median salary of $65,230. Urban planners typically work regular hours plus extra time to meet with colleagues and teammates.
