Essay / The love between a parent and a child in After Making Love...
The love between a parent and a child in After Making Love We Hear FootstepsThere are several different definitions for word love. Love is a simple four letter word, with a multitude of thoughts and feelings behind it. There is a difference between loving someone and being in love with someone. Love between two best friends or between a husband and wife are the types of love that people want to last forever. However, there is no guarantee that this will last forever. Moreover, the love between family members and the love between a parent and a child is the kind of love that will last a lifetime. In Galway Kinnell's poem "After Making Love We Hear Footsteps", Kinnell writes about the love between a parent and a child. Galway Kinnell describes the familiar act in the middle of the night of a child climbing into bed with his parents. The poem begins with the father describing that no matter how much noise is made, the child is able to sleep despite anything. For example, Galway Kinnell states: Either play loud music or sit down to talk with a reasonably sober Irishman and Fergus will only sink deeper into his dreamless sleep, which passes in a flash. However, let there be a slight noise from the parents when they wish. be alone and the child wakes up instantly. For example, Galway Kinnell writes in his poem: But let there be this heavy breathing or this muffled cry anywhere in the house and he will be forcibly awakened. Being a parent comes with many responsibilities. Parents have to give up a lot of their privacy and time when it comes to their children. For example, starting at line sixteen, Galway Kinnell writes: After making love, stay still, touch all along our body... the middle of a paper... will never die. There may be times in a child's life when he thinks his parents don't love him. Some families end up not speaking to each other for a long time. This can last a few days, a few weeks, or even a few years. No matter how long it takes, the child will always know that he can count on the love of his mother and father forever. Parents will always be there for their children. Children can always count on parents' full support and understanding in good times and bad times. Unlike other romantic relationships, the romantic relationship between a parent and a child will never disappear. There is no guarantee that normal relationships will last forever. However, the relationship between a parent and their child is guaranteed forever. They will love each other until the day they die.
