Essay / The weight of the world on your shoulders...For 3 sets
When you enter the gym; past reception, beyond the treadmills, away from the swimming pools and basketball courts, we see the heart and soul of the gym. The sound of dropping dumbbells, throbbing screams and loud grunts define this zone. It is here that the destiny of every passionate weightlifter is formed. There are only two paths to take on the journey, and the roads they lead to couldn't be more diverse. One path leads to a physique defined beyond measure, where every muscle is visible along with its segments. It's the fitness model look, made of lean muscle. The other path leads to an imposing, muscular physique. Here the person is monstrous in proportion, since the emphasis is on size rather than definition. This is the bodybuilder look, made of muscle mass. The similarities and differences of these two “iron gods” can be seen through their workouts, diets, and results. To reach these heights of the human physique, every person must frequently attend the gym. There are no 5 minute ab exercises a day, no 15 minute run a day and no 3 month plan for it. These two body types spend on average 5 to 6 days at the gym, sometimes even twice a day. There is no easy way out. These two are similar in that they have to dedicate their lives to it. It takes years, not months. The dedication these two share is indescribable. Although they share the same heart and passion for their goal, their routines are polar opposites. The lean muscular body (fitness model) will lift lighter weights and higher repetitions. He runs after the burn, heaving himself up until his body can take no more. This is how muscles grow while the skin tightens around them. They become visible with veins coming out of the influx of blood. Its muscle...... middle of paper ...... capabilities of the human body, but both in different ways. One with defined muscles and as sharp to the eye as glass is to the finger. The other is a towering monster that will tower over everyone and everything except the door that he can't get through. They both share the dedication to coming to the gym every day, even though they lift weights differently, they pour their sweat, blood and tears into each set. They follow a strict diet that requires you to either eat everything you can or say no to the tastiest foods. When it comes to results, they both have their pros and cons, but one thing is for sure; they put genetics aside and pushed human capabilities to their maximum. The fitness model who appears to be covered in lean muscle and the bodybuilder body bulging with muscle mass are different worlds at first glance, but couldn't be more similar at heart..
