    Imagine this: you live the first years of your life happily with your family. You live in a beautiful home, your family is healthy, and you have a beautiful community of people around you. Then, out of nowhere, you are captured. You are afraid, you don't know where you are, where you are going or where your family is. After what seems like an eternity, you wake up in a small, dirty cage. The cage is just big enough for you to stand and take eight steps. The cage is littered with trash and smells just horrible. You are alone, with nothing to do all day except sit or sleep. You too are hungry; you haven't been fed in a day or two. The only thing left to eat is the trash that passers-by throw into your cage. Obviously this doesn't happen to humans at this time in America. But it nevertheless happens to thousands of animals in Indonesia's largest zoo. The animals are captured and forced to live in the harsh conditions of the zoo, where they are overcrowded, underfed and neglected. Surabaya Zoo in Indonesia is a horrible zoo with terrible conditions and should be closed due to the mistreatment of zoo animals. The Surabaya Zoo, as disgusting as it is, sees a lot of tourists every day. Being the oldest and one of the most diverse zoos in the world, it's no surprise that it sees a lot of traffic. The zoo sees tons of people every day; around 7,000 people visit the zoo every day and around 40,000 people visit Surabaya during major holidays. (“The zoo takes terribly…”). One of the reasons why the zoo welcomes so many tourists could be the cheap entrance fee. Tickets to enter the Surabaya Zoo cost only $2. (“The Indonesian zoo shaken…”).
