Essay / Persuasive Essay on Gay Marriage - 1152
Gay marriage is an issue that our society faces on a daily basis. This is a question that has been raised in many states. Questions have even been taken to the Supreme Court. In the United States, same-sex marriages are frowned upon in some states while in others they are supported. Some will say there is nothing wrong with same-sex marriage. They further support and believe that homosexuals should have the same rights as a heterosexual marriage. There are certain stereotypes and issues that same-sex couples face: what makes them different from any other marriage, why (in some states where same-sex marriage is supported) their spouses do not have the same rights as those in heterosexual marriages , and why The company frowns on this question. Over the years, people have come to accept that there is nothing wrong with same-sex marriages. But some object to the idea that it should be legal. If marriage is defined as the union between two people, why is it considered morally wrong for two people of the same sex to marry? This then raises the question: what makes same-sex marriage different from heterosexual marriages? Why can't they have the right to love, honor and commit like heterosexual couples? Some may say that in the Bible it says that it is wrong to get involved in a same-sex marriage. If two people love each other, why can't they get married? There are so many arguments that can be made to justify marriage and for couples to receive benefits like any other couple. In this society, understand why some people like me, I feel like people have the right to be with whoever they want to be with and just because you don't believe in that doesn't mean it's bad . A gay person is no different... middle of paper ...... should anyone be denied the right to marry simply because they are gay? Why shouldn't someone marry whoever they want just because some have a personal or moral problem due to their beliefs. To me it is not morally right to judge someone, how can someone preach on morality and say that God does not judge but what he does to others judges. Homosexuals also need love, they cannot help but fall in love with a person of the same sex because their love is uncontrollable. From a Christian perspective, you know that God planned your life before you even began your life. I believe that no matter race, religion, or sexual preference, everyone should be able to get married. Additionally, if same-sex marriages are morally wrong, why did God allow some people to fall in love with someone of the opposite sex? Gay marriage will be an ethical issue for years to come.
