Essay / America's Health Care Crisis - 866
America is facing a health care crisis! At public meetings across America, fights have broken out during speeches aimed at promoting government-run health care. Looking at the big picture, health care is only a small part of today's problems, but it is a very important issue in the eyes of Americans, considering how it affects every citizen. The healthcare system in the United States is going through tough times, but does that mean we, as Americans, should just step aside and let the government take over? Absolutely not! The government will claim that the number of uninsured Americans is high because of the prices insurance companies charge, but are these numbers correct and who is making them up? What will a public health service provide in terms of doctors and treatments? Where do we think the money to run the public health system will come from? Americans can help turn the economy around by eliminating this health care crisis from the list of many crises. Americans should stop the government from passing such a bill for state-run health care and let them know exactly what we need and how we need to do it. According to the most recent figures released by the Census Bureau, approximately 47 million Americans are uninsured. But let’s take a closer look at these numbers. Of these 47 million, approximately 7 million are illegal immigrants, 9 million benefit from Medicade, 3.5 million are eligible for health care but do not use available health services, and approximately 20 million families have incomes above the poverty line ($41,300 for a family of four) and can afford regular health services with more extensive coverage. The government is trying to add all these factors together to increase the numbers, in an attempt to win...... middle of paper ...... the government says it will not increase the deficit. It's time for all Americans to stand up and get out of the baby stage, where they let the government do everything for them, and tell these officials exactly what we need and how we need to do it. Until now, the government has made a mockery of the American economy. When a communist country looks at the United States of America and wonders what we are doing, it is high time for us Americans to do something. It is time for this economy to turn around and for the government to abandon its attempts to overstep its bounds, like the ones it is doing with this health care idea. Reducing a government-run health care bill is the first step to getting the economy back in the right direction and meeting Americans' goals, so we can get back to living the American dream..
