Unfortunately, Abigail creates a diversion and Danforth is easily drawn into her lies. When Danforth judges unjustly at the end of Act III, Hale exclaims, "I denounce this proceeding, I leave this court!" (120). This shows Hale's complete and utter disrespect for a court he used to do his job.
