    Technology is currently the fastest growing industry and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In fact, everything will be managed by technology in the near future. Technology is around us all the time, lately with computers, smartphones and televisions. With technology comes social media. Nowadays we can access social media networks through our cars, our smartphones, our watches, our televisions and through anything we can access on the Internet. Using social media is second nature to us. One in four people in the world use social media. New social media sites are constantly popping up to supplement the old ones. There is even a website that rates your social media presence. Klout scores you on how you've impacted the online world. Companies look at Klout scores to determine the knowledge level of their potential employees. Since broadcasting our lives and networking online became so popular, our lives have changed. The way we lead our daily lives has transformed, the words selfie and hashtag have become part of our daily vocabulary; we have lost the need for privacy and are exposed to things we never imagined knowing before the social media boom. Like any other luxury in the world, we should use social media in moderation. Many, like Neal Gabler, claim that social media has changed our lives for the worse. In this essay, I will discuss the different parts of social media and the effect it has had on us. Although there are negative sides to overusing social media, the positive impact is much greater.
