    Music is composed of intertwined sounds of melody and rhythm that can have powerful effects on a person. It can help people focus on tasks or calm their minds. Research has shown that music has beneficial effects on a person's mind, body, and health. A review article by Rastogi, Solanki and Zafar (2013) mentions on the contrary: “The controlled use of music and its influence on the human being in the physiological, psychological and emotional integration of the individual during the treatment of 'an illness or disability'. Those who oppose music therapy believe that it does not work, especially in the long term, and that medications are more effective and provide faster results. Despite those who oppose it, music therapy has become very popular over the years and it is common for people from the upper classes to create organizations and clubs to support music therapy. In the review article by Rastogi et al. (2013), they note the importance of music therapy and its approach to biopsychosocial perspectives as a treatment for psychological disorders: "Research to date clearly establishes that music is certainly more than just an entity of entertainment or a cultural phenomenon and strongly places it as a therapeutic tool in the treatment of psychiatric disorders. The effects of music therapy may decrease damage caused by biological side effects of medications, decrease psychological distress, and increase social activity and awareness among people with a disorder. All these effects suggest that music can effectively treat psychological disorders as well as anxiety and depression.
