Essay / Effects of Pollution on the Natural Environment
The greatest threats to the natural environment are pollution caused by the amount of industrial agricultural activity or any number of other key sources. Humans are responsible for maintaining the sustainability of this planet by discovering their true reasonableness with the natural environment and learning to protect it. Taking care of the natural environment is like thinking about the hypothesis of Gaia, who is the goddess of life, and how people should treat the planet as the goddess of life did it several centuries ago (Thiele, 88). In the article titled “Fueled by Pollution and Unhealthy Policies, Toxic Algae Overtakes Florida Beaches” by Environmental and Health Florida has been terribly affected by red tide which has been made worse by pollution loads. Julie Dermansky traveled across the state researching and photographing red tide in key areas of Florida, visiting to complete data on the areas hardest hit by red tide, like Lake Okeechobee. This water is then released with some of the red tide which pollutes the eastern and western sections of the river leading to Fort Myers and Cape Coral and now threatens local wildlife like alligators, snapping turtles and millions of fish that be victim of pollution. The main point is that people are so accustomed to the fact that just throwing things away and them ending up in landfills can shape the way we view the native environment and the way we can shape the lives of our children , that they have to face the consequences that their parents could have the choice instead of throwing that piece of paper or that trash can out of the car window, it could have an effect on the environment through the animals that catch it or lead to pollution. Humans are evolving into tribal animals and communities are the basis of ethical living within society now. One of the facts I want to elaborate on in this chapter is the section regarding pollution and its harmful effects on our planet and our daily lifestyles. Every day in the natural world, more and more water and food are polluted, which will lead to deadly chain reactions around the world. Every day that we live we suffer from being hit by one or all of eight different types of pollution which range from air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, noise pollution, radioactivity pollution, light pollution , warmth and view. In this section of the essay we will focus on air and soil pollution, as I believe these are the worst as they cause the most damage over a long period of time. In an article I found, it stated that if the world failed to find a way to reduce the number of chemicals released into the air, it would soon cause an event called acid rain. One reason acid rain is bad is because it falls into the aqueducts where drinking water is stored in a city and causes many health problems, including..
