We have all been underwater at some point in our lives, whether it was in a pool, a lake, or in the ocean, but it was probably for a short time period of time. Today I am going to discuss scuba diving and its effects on the environment as well as how to make it safer for the environment. Over the past year I have learned to scuba dive and obtained my scuba diving certification from Neptune Dive and Ski. Today I will discuss the effect of scuba diving on the environment through my research, products and learnings. The first task I faced was to gather information about scuba diving and research the problem and the multiple ways to solve the problem it poses to the environment. However, some divers lack the training and knowledge to dive into water safely and carefully. Scuba diving is intended for recreational and educational use...... middle of paper ...... intensive hobbies can be, and not to leave things to the last minute. Throughout my senior project, I struggled with time management. The scuba diving classes I took were on the same days as the football games, which prevented me from attending the football games on those days. Scuba diving also happened from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. twice a week, which left me little time to do my homework on those days. The second problem we face concerns money. Scuba diving is an expensive hobby and I have learned that it requires a lot of dedication from anyone who wants to learn how to do it. In total, I spent over $400 on equipment and my parents spent over $500 on training and a certification trip to Florida. Another thing I had to learn to deal with was a persistent problem with procrastination. Throughout the Senior Project, I left things hanging until I had almost no time left to do them.
