Reflection on critical justification - 1220 | | I feel very valuable to myself as a student. I became a better writer; I also learned valuable information about appropriate rhetorical choices as well as understanding the material we reviewed throughout the semester. During this process, reading and understanding the material provided was not only a difficult task for me, but I also needed a lot of improvement in this area. When it came to my portfolio layout, I decided to use a layout that shows my gradual improvement as a writer throughout the semester. Other aspects of the writing process during the semester, such as the revision stages, were also areas in which I continued to progress. I realized that writing is no longer just another assignment that I can finish right before it’s due. This class is the first writing class in which I had to push myself. I firmly believe that I have taken my writing to another level. My paragraphs are sharper, my ability to reference pop text has improved significantly, and most importantly, I'm able to write in a more personal way. I no longer have that annoying writer's block at the end of articles. Regarding the process of writing my first, second, and third essay, there was a clear visual improvement indicating that I became a better writer in certain aspects. As for the first essay, I tended to rely on my writing skills as a high school student rather than using the elements of a successful college essay. This was final once I received the feedback given by ......middle of the article......necessary to feel confident in my writing and complete my third attempt. As I complete my portfolio, my main goal is to highlight improvements in my writing by placing my worst essays first, followed by my best essays. This process will not only show how much my writing excelled during the semester, but it will also show that the peer review and conference sessions were very beneficial. This class made me realize that I love writing, rather than just being good at it. As for any other information that I believe shows my improvement as a writer, I would like to include any information from the reading assignments as well as any in-class information that has helped me improve my writing skills during the semester.
