Essay / Contrasting city life with suburban life - 702
People seem nicer and seem to smile more freely. The cashiers and baggers seem cheerful and not so eager to move the customer through their queue so they can move on to the next one. There have been instances where I only had a few items and someone in front of me offered to let me move ahead of them in line. I would be shocked if someone offered to let me preempt it at my local grocer. The military installation is not a sleepy little community, but the environment promotes fairness, civility and quality of life. I find the city grocer is more about walking in, shopping, and walking out. The city's culture is at a faster pace, but not only to provide a better quality of life.
