    Globalization is defined as the act of creating connections between countries around the world in terms of culture and economy. Almost everywhere in the world, citizens are now part of the global village. Although various researches have indicated that globalization has negative effects for particular reasons, the positive impacts have clearly been found to be stronger, especially in developing countries like Cambodia. To begin with, tourist travel is one of the main negative impacts of globalization as it is likely to pose a serious threat to society as a whole through human trafficking. According to an article by Iris Cambodia, the fastest growing criminal industry across the world is undoubtedly: human trafficking. Millions of human beings are forced into professional activities such as domestic work or industrial work and some are forced to get involved in sex tourism. The study shows that Cambodia is known to be one of the top destinations for the sex industry. (“What is human trafficking”, 2012) The globalization of tourism has not only contributed to adverse effects on society but also on the environment. Every year, thousands of passengers travel around the world by plane, whether for vacation, business or any other occasion. This use of air transport results in the release of enormous quantities of carbon dioxide into the Earth's atmosphere each year. Additionally, tourism also produces a lot of pollution through waste, noise and road traffic emissions in many regions. Another negative effect is the fusion and interaction between cultures. When these cultures globalize, their chances of losing their traditions and culture will be extremely high. Those are most likely to arise... middle of paper ...... in tourism and could lead to cultural loss, but they can also bring cultures together, create economic growth and, more importantly , have positive effects on can have on education and technology.
