The Perfect Couple in Woman in WhiteIn Woman in White, the author gives the reader many opportunities to find their favorite romantic plot. The reader wonders which characters are well suited to each other. We have the choice between the gentlemanly Walter and the feminine Laura or Laura and the deceptive Sir Percival. It seems to this reader that the author has given us the answer to the puzzling question of the perfect couple; only, the perfect couple is actually a perfect trio: Walter, Laura and Marian. Walter didn't have to choose between the two main female characters because they did it for him. It is obvious that Laura and Marian complement each other.
