    School leaders have difficult decisions to make every day. They must evaluate their decisions to ensure they are ethical and effective. Administrators must listen to all sides of a situation and evaluate all options before making a decision. This process is difficult because administrators must ensure that all parties involved are happy with the decision that has been made. Case Study of Requested Change In the case study with Principal Miller, he had to make the decision to change the curriculum or keep it. . There was a group of parents who wanted students to be grouped according to their abilities. The other group of parents wanted the teaching to remain the same. Principal Miller was new to the school and had very little knowledge about the school. This leaves some crucial questions for Principal Miller to think about before making his choice. He had to make sure the children received the best education he could provide as the leader of the school. He also needs to think about the other educators in the building and what they would think of the group. If Mr. Miller changes an instruction, this must be understood by all teachers and staff in the building. Mr. Miller should consider all parents, maintain an open dialogue with them, report the data for and against the change and finally make the decision. Reflecting on the Case Study This decision can be very difficult because unhappy parents can be very difficult to deal with. Additionally, being new and changing something like instructions can cause friction with staff.
