Privilege is having one's body accepted by the public and having opportunities offered regardless of qualifications or background. Privilege can also include accepting certain behaviors solely because a man has demonstrated those actions. Posters, cinema and the music industry are just some of the media that reinforce gender privileges today. To begin with, body image is an issue highlighted in the media, but the male body is acceptable regardless of its appearance. Society instills the idea that a man can be in a horrible state and still win over a woman with a model look. Men are essentially taught that they don't need to work to deserve a wife. Also, it is common to see men letting themselves go, while women must maintain a strict body image to be accepted by society. In general, men get a pass when it comes to judging by body type.
