With intelligence, courage, determination and other heroic qualities, who wouldn't want to have a hero, let alone be one? That's right, no one! We all have heroes in our lives, and we've probably all taken them for granted at some point. But have you ever asked yourself, “What would I do without a hero in my life?” » This is definitely a question to consider because honestly, life without heroes would be difficult. Who else would have been there for the kingdom of Ithaca to save the people from the suitors, if Odysseus had not been? Would we know the curiosities of space without Sally Ride? Who knows! Heroes have always been on Earth and they will continue to walk among us. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? Although Odysseus was a brave king, he was truly like you and me; a human! As you know, not just anyone can be a hero; you have to try! Odysseus possessed the heroic qualities of intelligence, determination and bravery. Nor did he decide to have these qualities because he was king; he showed them through his actions. Intelligence was one of the many qualities Odysseus displayed, and he earned it by performing many creative acts. For example, when he and his men were trapped in Polyphemus' cave; Odysseus came up with a cunning plan. He persuaded the Cyclops to get drunk, which created an easy way to escape. How clever! Odysseus was not only intelligent, but he was also determined and courageous! He was determined because he wanted to return home after his long journey to his family, and that is heroic because he proved himself to be a loyal father and husband to his family. Odysseus was brave for many reasons. From fighting and killing tons of suitors, to stabbing Polyphemus, the Cyclops, in the eye, Odysseus was an extremely brave soul! It is heroic because he saved his own life as well as that of many of his fellow men. Not to mention he also saved his entire kingdom of Ithaca. You see, there have been heroes in every era, and there still are! You don't need to have big muscles to be a hero either; Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, didn't! Even though there were brave heroes in British Columbia with Ulysses, that doesn't mean heroes don't still walk among us. Believe me, it is! One of my greatest heroes of our modern age is the formidable Sally Ride. This determined and strong-willed lady was the first American woman in space! Even though she didn't have the immense muscles of Ulysses, or even Superman or the Incredible Hulk, she turned out to be a hero! Ride taught us that you don't have to be a strong man with superpowers to be a hero; you just need to be the best person you can be! Sally Ride was afraid for many inspiring reasons. For starters, she was the first American woman to go to space! Ride didn't know what was up there, and she was heroic because she proved that women are brave too! Not only was she fearful, but Sally Ride was also determined. Among a multitude of potential astronauts, she was the one chosen. She was the only person who was going to get the chance of a lifetime. She was going to achieve her goal and go.
