    Every day, around the world, medical professionals suck thousands of babies from their mothers' wombs through a procedure called abortion. The law protects and grants consent from the mother and health professionals for these procedures. However, babies apparently have no right to protection or life themselves due to the argument that a fetus is determined to be human and have life. Pro-life author Sarah Terzo, in a LifeSiteNews.com article, relays the following testimony from a medical student after witnessing her first abortion: "Rejected by their mothers and considered medical waste by their murderers, society allows these babies to die in silence, without recognition of their humanity” (Terzo). As noted previously, the point at which humanity determines that a fetus becomes a human or a person is a formidable source of argument between the pro-life and pro-choice movements. . This argument revolves around the question of whether a person becomes a human being – at conception or at birth? Thomson expands on this argument by stating that “we will probably have to agree that the fetus has already become a human person long before birth” (Thomson, 352).
