Essay / An analysis of "Orientation" by Daniel Orozco - 1163
For example, the head of orientation points out that Barry Hacker's wife is dead, however, the story begins to become fictional when the narrator tells him says that his ghost chases away all the employees. “We saw it, reflected on our computer screens, passing our cabins. We saw the shadow of his face in our photocopies. Another factor is the story of Anika Bloom, who workers say is able to tell when and how people will die every time her left palm bleeds. The narrator warns the main character to stay away from Anika Bloom because those who get close to her change and never return to the way they were. Both of these stories are mysterious and probably false, but make "Orientation" more interesting. “Orientation” is a special story by Daniel Orozco because it resembles a dialogue between two people and contains various emotions in order to maintain readers' interest. Orozco creates the typical office reality, but he also includes bizarre stories with exaggerations on several aspects, which makes the story hilarious and engaging. The lifestyle of each worker is strange and adds different atmospheres and ambiances to the “Orientation”. This story gives the audience the feeling of being there, which makes it an exceptional moment.
