    What comes to mind when you think of sexual harassment? Most people imagine an individual reluctantly grabbing another individual in an attempt to have non-consensual sex. However, sexual harassment can be something as trivial as being called negative. It's anything that makes a person feel uncomfortable about their sexuality. According to the law, sexual harassment ranges from unwelcome sexual advances and requests for sexual favors to verbal statements of a sexual nature. This violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Sexual Harassment Policy, currently in effect in all schools and workplaces, is intended to provide an educational and professional environment free of harassment. This includes sexual harassment and any form of intimidation or exploitation. Acts of sexual harassment against another person have unfortunately become commonplace in the workplace. This can be physical or verbal. In 2008, the Association of Women for Action and Research conducted an investigation into the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace. The study, which involved 500 respondents and 92 companies, showed that 79% of victims are women and 21% men; 54% have experienced some form of sexual harassment in the workplace, 27% have experienced harassment from their colleague, while 17% have been harassed by their manager. The study also showed that 12% of them had received threats of dismissal if they did not comply with the sexual harassers' demands ("Statistics | AWARE | Workplace Sexual Harassment", nd).
