IntroductionAs millions of teenagers return to school, they will be learning the same old things, usual studies include history, math and science . But to the surprise of many students and parents, there will be an additional course included in the curriculum: sex education. In most public schools, there is some form of sex education teaching. However, an even more important question arises. “What kind of sex education are our children receiving and is it enough to help them? » There's a huge national debate going on about whether this whole ordeal is about whether or not kids should be taught in school about sex. No matter which side of the fence you are or your school is on, what is important is knowing how to benefit your child's health and future from the impact of sex education (Wilson 570)Access to accurate information“Access to accurate information necessary to protect health is an important human right. To prevent and treat health problems, accurate medical information is very essential. If many had the knowledge they need to avoid risks and make smarter decisions about their bodies and their own health care, the majority would agree that disagreements between people would diminish. Additionally, some schools are expected to provide factual information on these topics. Providing such crucial health information to adolescents on the topic of sex has become a challenge. Increasing amounts of federal funding have necessitated "abstinence-only" education, but this restricts discussion of contraceptives and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases due to moral or religious controversies.
