Well, since I was a child, I have loved being with animals. I always found them interesting. Interesting in the sense of how they react to certain things or how they behave in their natural habitat. When animals are injured, they need help. There is about a fifty percent chance that the animal will make it out alive if the injury is severe. This is how certain animals become threatened, even instinctive. Ever since I was in middle school and high school, I always thought I would study to become a veterinarian; help and care for dogs and cats. However, this was a past dream of mine; I changed this dream to become a zoologist. I want to become a zoologist because I love learning about wild animals; finding them more interesting compared to the original pets at home. What I love most about these two careers is that they both help animals, domestic and non-domesticated. To become a zoologist, I need to have a good understanding of what zoology is, how to start my career, also making sure that there will be no bumps in the road and finally succeed. What exactly is zoology? Zoology is a branch of biology that deals with animals and animal life. The zoologist studies the behaviors of animals as well as their habitats. For example, they would go out into the wild looking for the animal, once found they would observe from afar and take notes of what the animal does or how it reacts to certain things. I compare zoology to the profession of medicine. There are many different types of doctors ... middle of paper ...... success is doing what you love most in life; either in a career or a hobby. For me it would have to be a love of animals and photography. I wanted to become a veterinarian, but then changed my mind to become a zoologist. I think zoology is more interesting and exciting; being able to be so close to a wild animal, an animal you never thought you would be so close to. To start this career goal, I will attend a community college and then transfer to North Carolina State University. Having to overcome my two financial and academic challenges; overcome financial difficulties by applying for financial aid, grants and student loans. Overcoming my studies by studying more often, organizing study groups, attending tutoring, and quizzing myself with flash cards. Overall, I think this career goal will be a success; only if I overcome my challenges.
