    The Kevin Mitnick Affair was a very interesting case dating back to the late 1900s. According to CNN, “Kevin David Mitnick – the world's most wanted computer hacker, the inspiration for two Hollywood films and a cult hero of cyberspace – was to be tried on April 20 in Los Angeles at one of the most famous computer centers. -cases linked to history” (Christensen, 1999). The big question in Mitnick's case was: Does Mitnick really have a case? Or are his constitutional rights being violated? Kevin Mitnick has led a life of crime since a young age. At age 12, Mitnick figured out how to hack and modify the LA Bus System's punch cards. While Mitnick was hacked into the Los Angeles bus system, he reverse engineered the system, allowing him to cheat the bus system and ride for free (Brown). But that wasn't enough for young Mitnick. With the age of increasing technology, computers began to become more and more popular. At age 16, Mitnick began hanging out with a group of teenagers involved in operating different systems, number forwarding, and high-tech prank calls (Brown). One prank that Mitnick and his friends used regularly was to hack into the (411) phone book, and when people called, they would make up a fake number to tell the callers.
