Psychiatric disorders are common illnesses around the world. People with mental disorders unintentionally affect millions of people. Many people know someone who has a mental disorder while others just hear about it. The daily routine of these people is not easy to face. Just because a person behaves and thinks backwards or more slowly does not mean they are less capable of success, as society says. Children, adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities have a huge impact on society, as well as their families and friends. The process of understanding and behaving differently with mental illness is indescribable. There are different types of diagnosed mental disorders, some more common than others. Some common disorders are: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, impulse control disorders, etc. These disorders are usually diagnosed by frequent behaviors and then tested for. The answer becomes clear if the patient's response is not appropriate to the circumstances. Most mental disorders are observed first, and a person's behavior will show if the disorder applies. The lifestyle of people with mental illness presents a greater risk of reducing their quality of life. Statistics show that “of the 450 million people worldwide living with mental or behavioral disorders, 90 million were addicted to drugs, 25 million had schizophrenia, and 150 million had depression” (Introduction to Global Mental Health: effects of mental health on individuals and individuals). Populations – Unite for the Sight). This is their life... middle of paper... capable of immense achievements if given the support and opportunity to prove themselves.
