The United States has been involved in many wars since its founding. World War II, in particular, had a significant impact on the world and the United States. Between 1939 and 1945, the majority of the world's population experienced many tragedies and hardships. In total, 50 million people died, including women, children, civilians and innocent bystanders. Adolf Hitler, the leader of Nazi Germany, was responsible for a significant number of these deaths. Hitler, aligned with Japan, wanted to take over all of Europe and Japan wanted to conquer Asia. One of the main causes of World War II was Germany's strong disapproval of the Treaty of Versailles. Germany particularly disliked that it had to accept all responsibility for World War I, paying $6.6 billion for the damage it had caused in World War I, and that it did not was allowed to have only a small army and six warships, no tanks, no air force. and no submarines were allowed. In addition, the Rhineland region was to be demilitarized and removed from German possession. All these conditions were enshrined in the Treaty of Versailles. During the war, the world formed two camps, the Allies and the Axis powers. The Allies included Britain, the Soviet Union and the United States, known as "the Big Three". The Axis powers included Germany, Italy and Japan. At the end of the war, the Allies triumphed and the world found peace. World War II had a major effect on the United States economy. To begin with, World War II occurred right after the Great Depression, so American citizens were still recovering from this crucial setback in the American economy. Ironically, World War II helped bring the county out of this horrible depression. For example, businesses thrived because they mass-produced war supplies, including many weapons and materials.
