    Othello was very easily manipulated and could be persuaded to commit certain actions that ultimately cost him his life. Iago was a great manipulator as well as a trickster to get what he wanted. Jealousy played a role in every aspect of Othello and Iago's lives. Jealousy destroys Othello inside and out with all the lies Iago told him about Desdemona. Iago never liked Othello and was jealous that he was so respected and had a beautiful wife. Iago's jealousy was also motivated by the fact that he thought Othello might have slept with his wife Emilia. Iago hid his jealousy and he played all his roles well with Cassio, Desdemona, Emilia, Roderigo and especially Othello. In the movie “O” you could see all the roles Hugo played with all the characters and how jealous he was. However, you could see how Iago's jealousy was motivated. Also, in the movie "O" you can see how Iago messed with his brain and how it affected him so much. Othello is a confident person who has been quite successful in life since he is a black man, who has always been surrounded by white people. He wooed Desdemona with all the stories he would share with her. Othello is also respected by many people, except for a select few. Othello never thought he would have a woman who would ever think of cheating on him. But as Iago lies to Othello about what Desdemona is doing with Cassio, his confidence turns to insecurity. His jealous side begins to emerge and take control of his life until his death. The first sign of jealousy was when Desdemona spoke to Othello about the possibility of Cassio regaining his position. Othello found this a bit strange, and Iago made the situation worse by exaggerating the situation in Oth... middle of paper... in the others. (Hacht). When Iago manipulates everyone, it all comes from his own jealousy and uses their jealousies to his advantage against Othello. Furthermore, the love that Othello had for Desdemona disappears because of Iago. This turns into pure hatred because of the jealousy instilled in him. With all the lies Iago shares with him, Othello feels no real emotions other than anger, sadness, and especially jealousy. Iago is the reason why Othello changes. "The deep and subtle wickedness of Iago, in effecting this change from love to jealousy, in a spirit as tumultuous as that of Othello, preoccupied with the disinterested affection of man which insensibly leads him to his ruin, is also masterfully drawn. (Hugues). With Iago motivating all of these jealous tendencies to surface, it resulted in Othello's tragic death..
