Essay / Marriage Culture: The Realized Form of Marriage Culture
This text is quite specific regarding the tradition of each wedding and the ceremonies that must be done on the wedding day. This part is very useful for this research on how a normative ceremony is created. Additionally, as mentioned in the article, people expected the wedding to be like a European fairy tale: it begins with a proposal and the wedding day with a bride in a white dress accompanied by a groom in suit. It will also involve living together happily ever after. As for the article by Currie and Dawn H (1993), it also explained how the traditions of white weddings were assumed in a specific form. Additionally, Currie also explained why traditional marriage continues to be celebrated in this century. However, the article by Currie and Dawn H (1993) is quite broad because it not only talks about marriage but also about the divorce rate in Canada, which is not related to this research.
