    The fact that the popular vote confers no power on whoever becomes president shows that only a part of the people has the power. This seems to be a sign that our own government does not trust the people to make an informed decision on who should become president. The way small states' votes are larger than large states' votes shows that states are still not equal in power. How to win the presidency is more about strategy than having ideas for getting elected. An example of this is how the electoral college elected George Bush when Al Gore won the popular vote. George Bush is considered one of the worst presidents of the United States and was elected thanks to a system considered flawed. I also feel like corruption plays a role in the electoral college versus the authenticity of the popular vote. I think this should be replaced by an electronic voting system that could accurately and clearly show who the majority of the population voted for. But I also think that conditions should be imposed for voting. Education plays a big role in politics and I feel like there are people who vote just to vote without any basic knowledge. As bad as this sounds, I feel like it might limit a better decision to make than smaller, less developed states being "mind controlled" into voting for
