A majority of single mothers still have to work multiple jobs in order to maintain enough money to support their family. However, the world of work has become more tolerant and accepting of single mothers. These days, many jobs and universities now offer child care to mothers who need it. Casie currently works two different jobs to support herself and her daughter. She admits she would happily take a third if she needed one. Fortunately, her daughter is now old enough to work and help them both as well. Fortunately, opinions about being a single mother have changed in a very positive way. Instead of being seen as inept and dependent on others, they are seen as strong and courageous. Other single mothers see themselves as fully capable of providing for their families and empathize with each other in doing so. Casie can now proudly say, “My life is not over. It has become more complex. Casie no longer worries what others think or view as a single mother. She now considers herself a tough, confident and self-sufficient person for herself and for her.
