They had all the choice jewelry and perfumes and had slaves to help them with the work. Just looking at happiness would make this true. However, what each individual has in Mesopotamian society is a family which is also important in this era. In the eyes of an average Mesopotamian, this is what constituted a good life. The Hebrews had an entirely different view of the great mystery of the “good life.” This is what the average Hebrew would consider a good life. The ancient Greeks also had a different view of what made life good and how someone could have one. These are the ideals of the ancient Greeks' vision of a good life. Modern Good Life Ideas Here The idea of a good life is very versatile. Everyone has their own vision of what makes them happy and what they need in life. Happiness is a very subjective idea and different for everyone. That being said, everyone’s “good life” belongs to everyone because a good life is made up of two parts, happiness and well-being. The Mesopotamians, Hebrews, and Greeks may have different views on the specific ideas that accompany a good life, but the essentials remain much the same throughout.
