“You can drive over a hundred miles on a Wyoming highway without seeing another car,” Dad often boasted. This was not the case in Colorado, however. The cars were lined up one after the other, traveling at 75 miles an hour, to the horizon and beyond. We passengers paid little attention to the outside world as we were involved in a stimulating discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of the highly educational summer hit film, Independence Day. The film answers the question: Are we alone in the Universe? with a resounding no when the aliens arrived and began demolishing major cities around the world. We all looked out the windshield laughing at my sister's comment about the president in the movie: "He was so upset about the death of his little wife that he immediately went and put on his flight suit to go kick those aliens." It's but himself. “And what do you think about the stripper who was perfectly happy in her job and…” David started and never finished as a large truck, two or three cars in front of us, started to drive away from us all straight into the street.
