    There are two things in this life that we all encounter: stress and death. Stress is something that affects every human being, every day. Some of us may have higher stress levels than others. A reaction to stress can be anxiety. Anxiety is a physiological and psychological state. Anxiety can be considered a “more intense” form of stress. Each person differs when it comes to their own personal causes of anxiety, but a fairly common worrying form is death anxiety. Every living human being will eventually die, it's a universal truth but a pretty bitter pill to swallow. What happens after death? Why is it time for me to die? When will I die? How will I die? Etc. These are the kinds of questions a person suffering from death anxiety disorder would ask themselves on a daily basis. Such thoughts are not safe for people suffering from this disorder; they simply find it much more difficult to put these problems aside. In fact, it is reasonable to assume that such a powerful idea could eventually affect everyday life. “In Western society, there is a strong tendency to avoid confrontation with themes related to death, but as people age, a reduced time perspective forces them to confront the finite nature of life (article 9 , p. 1). One who suffers from such anxiety can point out the fact that since we are conscious beings, we are capable of thinking such ideas and that they are inevitable. Quite naturally, the act of “dying” is something over which we have no power. Many variables can affect death anxiety and it is by no means a discriminatory disorder. Regardless of the differences between human beings, we all experience similar events like birth and death.
