  • Essay / Unemployment in the United States - 1003

The unemployment rate has increased significantly in recent months. This increase has created many complications for the American people. Although the U.S. economy has created more than 7 million jobs, there is still a long way to go before the economy gets back on track. The unemployment rate is divided into variables: ; such as employment level, unemployment level, labor force and stock variables. At some point in a recession, they are measured in quantities. Due to a flow of variables such as natural populations, net immigration, new entries and retirements, the labor force changes. Job growth is a relief, but with the percentage still unemployed and the resulting billions of dollars in debt. that have been created are still not enough to grow our economy. We have a lot of work to do before our economy stabilizes and helps people regain confidence. President Obama implemented an $819 billion stimulus package to keep the unemployment rate below eight percent, but by the end of 2009 it had risen to ten percent. The end of a tax reduction that we should have benefited from in January helped to improve employment a little. Unemployment not only affects the person themselves, but also the whole family. Some people deal with losing a job the same way they deal with divorce or the death of a loved one. Unemployment can cause different emotions such as stress, anxiety, fear and especially depression. This creates low self-esteem and makes you want to isolate yourself from others. Unemployment can cause violence in the family and in the economy. Some people manage unemployment very well by setting goals. Setting goals while improving, it will take years to overcome the problems that emerged during this recession. Over time, stock markets will rise when the employment rate increases. Businesses will begin to prosper and the economy will begin to grow. Thousands of people are still unemployed today and are hopeful that job opportunities will present themselves in the near future. Works Cited by Nicole Hardesty.
