Should gun control laws be stricter? Every day, news stories related to gun violence resonate around the world. Driveway shootings, public places, schools, homicides, and suicides are some of the different types of gun violence. Shooting and killing people is a major problem in the world and different comments are made about it. One of the most important is gun control laws. Stingl (2013) states: "The term gun control as used in the United States refers to any action taken by the federal government or by state or local governments to regulate, through legislation , the sale, purchase, safety and use of handguns. and other types of firearms by individual citizens. According to this idea, gun control laws should be stricter and people should not be able to easily access guns. However, many other people think that this idea is not a good solution and never help. This essay will demonstrate the pro and con viewpoints on the subject. Those who agree with this idea consider that: first, stricter laws will reduce violence and gun control means crime control. Second, some research shows that armed people are more likely to be shot. Third, guns can still be misused by their owners and, finally, stronger law is the best and quickest way to control crime and keep the community safe. While opponents argue above all that firearms are necessary for the safety and protection of people. Second, guns are not the only tools of murder and violence; there are other weapons as well and, finally, gun ownership is a human right. First, stricter laws will reduce violence, and gun control means crime control. Some countries around the world have introduced stricter laws and have managed to control crimes...... middle of paper...... and the disadvantages of this idea and illustrate the importance of their beliefs. However, statistics on gun violence (as some have shown in this essay) demonstrate more benefits than harms of gun laws due to reduced murder rates, suicides and homicides. So, it seems that this solution worked in Australia and the United Kingdom and therefore it will work in other countries like America. It is therefore recommended that governments around the world pay more attention to this solution. They should pass stricter laws restricting access to guns and even ban gun ownership. Additionally, the Second Amendment was approved over 200 years ago and it is not appropriate for people living in the 21st century. So it needs to be amended and improved and it is the responsibility of the government to save lives by enforcing these laws..
