    Prophet, Messiah and Son of ManWhen people normally think of Jesus Christ, they think of names like Savior, King, Messiah, Lamb, Son of God (Man) and sometimes Prophet. Jesus presented himself primarily as the Son of Man. The Messiah is what those who waited for the king of Israel. Jesus, by definition, was a prophet, as you will discover as you read this essay, and was almost never referred to as such. According to the text, a prophet is “one who has spoken for God, one who has power and is responsible for speaking the word of God and announcing the Word of God.” the will of God towards the people. (Achtemeier, p.231) Jesus was the ultimate prophet, you read in Deuteronomy 18:15, 18, verse 15 says: "The LORD your God will raise you up from among you, from among your own people, a prophet like me. You must listen to him,” and verse 18 says, “I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their people, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them whatever I command him. These verses show you that Jesus will be the ultimate prophet who will be a teacher of the word of God. Jesus as Messiah and Son of Man is generally more what we think of when we refer to Jesus. According to the text, the Messiah was to be “a king, and not a proclaimer of the will, judgment and redemption of God.” The Messiah and a Prophet should not be confused. The Messiah is the one and only Jesus Christ and refers to no one other than Him. However, there are many prophets in the Bible. So we can say that he is the ultimate prophet but Jesus Christ was not the only prophet. Mark 15:32: “Now let the Messiah, the king of Israel, come down from the cross. » Christ on the cross is called the Messiah and King of Israel. The Messiah is therefore the king of Israel. Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power.
